Yoga

my path to yoga

I first encountered yoga at the age of ten, but a consistent practice only developed many years later. One ordinary day in Bremerhaven, I spontaneously joined an outdoor yoga class in the park. The effect was surprisingly clear: my body felt activated yet calmer, my mind became quieter and my attention more focused. Walking home, I felt a distinct sense of lightness — and the feeling that I had discovered a practice that would stay with me.

In the following years, I explored this form of yoga more deeply. The connection between movement, breath and attention quickly convinced me. Over time, I noticed increased stability, mobility and a more refined body awareness — aspects that are also highly relevant to my work as a musician.

Like music, yoga has become a long-term companion for me. A regular practice supports concentration, balance and inner steadiness, and helps me respond to challenges with greater differentiation.

In 2023, I completed my training as a certified Ashtanga-Vinyasa yoga teacher (RYT 500, Yoga Alliance). My 200-hour foundation training took place at YOMA Studio in Bremen, followed by a 300-hour advanced training with Anna Rossow in Hamburg.

In 2025, I founded BodyMindMusicLab, a format in which I combine my experience as a musician with bodywork, breathwork and methods that cultivate attention. At its core is the question of how refined body awareness and a regulated nervous system can support concentration, coordination and artistic expression. The aim is to develop sustainable strategies that strengthen both performance and the enjoyment of music-making, while supporting long-term health and motivation.

Today, I integrate my work as a musician, educator and yoga teacher in an approach that understands body, breath and perception as a foundation for sustainable and differentiated performance.
